MISSION STATEMENT:

Suitlandfest CDC and The New Recreation Council are both non-profit 501c3 corporations,
that focuses on development, management and oversight of recreation. In addition to promoting
community services support and preventive interventions for juvenile (high risk youth) programs
and activities and artist development, these initiatives are tools that support social reform and
community revitalization.

OPENING STATEMENT:

As we progress profoundly into the quicksand of recession, our citizens are struggling for
survival. I constantly feel their emotional pains and sufferings knowing that they are in the
process of losing all of their personal possessions that have grown to become dear and
meaningful. Their life histories and expectations of legacies are dwindling slowly but surely
away.

Recession is taking its toll on all people while many of those who created this social ill feel
impervious to and sheltered by financial safety and securities. The middle working class and
community leaders will have to awaken to the truth, which is that we have become subjected to
social war and are being lead into states of deep seated depressions and frustrations a sincere
attack of genocide.

We are going to have to develop means to a technical and unified approach to shield ourselves
and combat all of the ammunition of social illness used to craft a war of social devastation and
introduce pure spiritual and metaphysical strategies to promote and socially empower social
reform. We understand what is going on with our out of control economy and if it is not
restricted and properly managed our children and grandchildren will suffer the consequences of
our inabilities to capture the compassion of our enemies who promotes social destruction, reach
the core problems, win over their idealism and develop positive, productive, meaningful and
manageable networking rapports to support social justice, equality and reform.
If we will stand together as a fortified union of citizens strategically implementing innovation
designed to meet the needs of all the citizens and every form of life within our communities, we
have learn to take the risk of reaching our hands and arms into the pits of quicksand without fear
of falling in and pull all of the victims out into a life of safety and lead them into financial
security. If we can work as a network recycling our community tax dollars throughout our
communities at least seven times before allowing it to leave, we all will become empowered.

SUITLANDFEST CDC is no longer the new corporation on the block and has become to understand the struggles of the poor,
the retired and the middle working class. Those that are on the bottom of the totem poll and those that are fed the garbage,
crumbs, the foolishness and fakeness of the lavish society. Sharing a little with the victims of the underclass
makes them feel empowered.

SUITLANDFEST CDC demonstrates no prejudices, hatred or discriminations with regards to all
who live. Suitlandfest CDC has not received the necessary support of funds to elevate from the
pits of society.other than the support from the CEO and other senior management partnerships.
The neglect fouls our abilities to enhance our efforts to further empower those that are in need,
and support social reform and community revitalization. Working without appropriate funds is
like working in the dark, and it is our respectful opinion that all of the contents in this miniproposal
shall be thoroughly considered and supported into mainstream operations.

THE PROBLEMS:

• Lack of funding and support to provide special/alternative/vocational education
• Lack of preparation to assist those seeking employment and employment opportunities
and socializing skills
• Lack of employment for those seeking support
• Lack of entrepreneurship training and business building support
• Lack of individual, group, peer, family and therapeutic counseling
• Lack of structured, supervised social activities
• Lack of para/professional networking resources
• Lack of reality counseling and life skill development
• Lack of artist and culture development support
• Lack of community supervision for troubled/high risk youth/families
• Lack of affordable child care services
• Lack of house hold management skills
• Lack of parenting and child care skills
• Lack of self-defense, self-confidence, self-assurance and self-respect
• Lack of supervised community service opportunities
• Lack of community based juvenile delinquent intervention programs

PLAN OF ACTION:

SUITLANDFEST CDC is willing to introduce a recession proof community revitalization
plan that will encourage community self-containment, development and prosperity.

COMMUNITY & BUSINESS OUTREACH

The Community & Business Outreach will be a "Think Outside The Box" approach in bringing
the community and business together in a way that they both effectively benefit one another
financially and socially. In these uncertain economic times, there is a call for unconventional
strategies to keep the community economic base circulating within the community on a more
consistent basis. We feel that this can only be done by keeping the community at large more
evolved on a grass roots level whereby, having them to benefit individually by their
involvement. This will encourage more individual pride and camaraderie as people work
together to achieve their individual goals as well as community goals.

1. Community House: 2307 Gaylord Dr., Suitland, Maryland, 20746. A house sponsored by the
Suitlandfest CDC that is located within the community where individuals within that community
can come for special services such as:

--Mortgage Services - Refinancing, Loan Modifications and Foreclosure Prevention

--Financial programs that help to sustain and enhance financial stability through community
involvement.

--Help to facilitate community beautification by providing assistance in yard maintenance and
home improvement.

2. Community Business Networking: Providing special networking events for community
businesses where we can bridge the gap between community and business. Create a platform
where businesses can promote their goods and services to the community more intimately and
create a more consistent circulation of dollars within the community.

3. Fund Raising Workshops: Providing workshops that will encourage individuals to work with
one another to enhance their own finances which in turn will enhance the fund raising efforts for
the community outreach programs.

This outreach will take the involvement of the entire community, from local government to the
individual resident. This will have to be a community controlled platform to foster a sense of
ownership and pride.

4. Suitlandfest CDC recording and video production studios 4612 Lacy Ave., Suitland,
Maryland, 20746 The multi-use professional recording and video studios serves several
purposes, which are as follows:

1. Professional artist recording
2. Professional video productions
3. Commercial and jingle production
4. Live band practice
5. Artist development, counseling, mentoring, training in the business of music
6. House hold management/employment preparation
The New Suitland Recreation Counsel in partnership with Maryland National Capital Park and
Planning Commission, (MNCPPC).Maryland National Capital Park and Planning Commission
recognizes and appreciates the important role the recreation councils play in serving as a
volunteer bridge between the citizens of Prince George’s County, the communities they represent
and the MNCPPC Department of parks and Recreation. Recreation councils recognized by
MNCPPC reap several rewards from this relationship. Some of the benefits include close
relationships with professional staff, publicity for programs, assistance in obtaining facilities,
administrative support, resourcesfor recruiting volunteers and members, assistance with
development and implementation of policies and programs and coverage by MNCPPC’s general
liability insurance.

ADDITIONAL BUSINESSES BUILDING OBJECTIVES:

1. Securing housing for battered females and their children
2. Securing housing for troubled, homeless and/or abandoned youth
3. Establish three music centers where local artist will have opportunities to market
their videos, cd’s, poetry/lyrics, photos, arts and crafts receive promotion support,
in addition to selling recording studio and video production and music equipment.
4. Secure a facility to establish a behavior modification program for male and
female troubled/high risk youth in need of community intervention and
social/community services to prevent incarceration and/or recidivism.
5. Establish a performing art staging/amphitheater with full dressing rooms and
storage space for professional sound systems and music. So that we can promote
spring, summer and fall in the park
6. Secure 10000 sq. feet of office space so that IT management support systems, a
community copying and computer user and computer repair centers can be housed in
addition to five of each meeting and conference rooms
7. Establish several health, wellness and nutritional centers with three community
rooms
8. Seek funding for multicultural community festivals (Suitlandfest) seminars,
workshops, programming for all age groups, special events at the community
centers, banquets, and special meetings,

CLOSING:

Suitlandfest Community Development Corporation has always been self-reliant and committed
to supporting many community events and providing services for those in need for over twelve
years without grants from the federal, state or local governments. However, we have never lost
faith and stand ready for action within our means.
However, during our state of economic disaster Suitlandfest CDC like so many others has grown
devastated and outraged about our poor social economic situation which has placed politicians,
government and corporate leaders in major dilemmas making it difficult for them to balance
budgets and make budgetary decisions without committing to laying off employees, riffing,
downsizing, furloughs, hiring freezes, which places additional burdens on employees working
under raise and fringe benefit restrictions.
It is respectfully recommended that we become diverse and began to understand the principals
applied in Social Recession Management, (SRM) and stop toying with the antiquated Social
Management System that is laying in its deathbed. We have to step out of the hideous box of
madness that is forcing a dysfunctional society and creating financial mayhem for our tax payers.
We have to create a Coherent, Innovative, Social Reform Management System and put people
back to work as opposed to terminating because leadership has been trained not to step out of the
box. The result of not being able to step out of the box is we are losing our tax base , which in
turn negatively impacts our economy.
History will reveal why the community development corporations were developed and if today’s
politician and corporate leaders understood the methodology for doing so they would rush to
empower them.
